Kosher dining at Cornell!

Cornell Dining is known as one of the best University Dining programs in the country, and this reputation extend to Kosher dining. Cornell's all Kosher Dining is based at the the kosher dining hall "104 West!", located on 104 West Ave, next to the Center for Jewish Living. Kashrut

All Cornell Kosher products are produced in the 104 West! kitchens by Cornell Dining staff. The "hashgachah", the kosher certification, is provided by the Orthodox Union (the OU) to Cornell Dining under the supervision of our full time Mashgiach Hillel Goldstein.

Meal times

Freshly cooked meals are regularly available for Lunch and Dinner at 104 West! Because it is a part of Cornell Dining Services, all meal plans, Big Red Bucks, and MealChoice plans are recognized, although special pricing applies for the Sabbath and holiday meals.

All meals cost one meal swipe. However, on the Sabbath and holidays, meals must be reserved before noon on the preceding day or an additional fee will be charged.

104 North!

Since all freshmen live on north campus, and many student may be far from 104 West during the day, Cornell also has a kosher station refered to as "104 north!", located within Appel Commons (North Star), one of Cornell's regular dining halls. Hot meat meals are sent to this location from 104 West! twice a day.

The kashrut of 104 North! is also under the OU, and students serve as Mashgiachim at this location.

Kosher to-go

On campus and don't have time to eat at 104 West! or 104 North! in between classes? Not to worry, 104 West! also ships packaged meals to 11 locations on campus, which can be purchased with Cornell's "Big Red Bucks", which is included in most Cornell meal plans.

Reservations are strongly encouraged for Friday Night & holiday meals.

Shabbat

Shabbat meals are served exclisively at 104 West! Attendance is usually about 150-175 students. However, at times there have been upwards of 300 students at Shabbat dinner. This really is the center of the Jewish social scene. A variety of Jewish groups frequently host Shabbat dinner, providing the short (about 5 minute) speech, as well as decorating the dining hall, coordinating what will be served and many other aspects of the dinner.

Shabbat meals are fully catered with real china and beautiful decorations. Additionally, our excellent food including Challah and all other baked goods are made fresh on the premises, as well as traditional shabbat style meals.

Lunch and third meal are also served at 104 West, Lunch is from 12:30PM to 2:00PM and 3rd meal is about 6:00PM varying with the end of Shabbat.

The CJL, Cornell Hillel, and Cornell Dining, all provide the programmatic content for these meals. Additionally other groups are welcome to run events in the dining hall. Ordering food

If you are interested in ordering kosher food for an event, please contact Kevin Spinner (kms343@cornell.edu) at least two weeks in advance. Additionally, it must be noted that without a certified Mashgiach, the food is no longer officially certified by the OU (or rather it is no longer the OU's responsibility) once it leave the kosher dining hall. For information about getting a Mashgiach at your event, please contact the 104 West! mashgiach at least two weeks prior to your event.
